- Gasket compressed or torn from age
- Door hinge sagging (common on French-door and side-by-side units)

- Level of the unit is off — fridge should tilt slightly back

- Warm the gasket with a hair dryer and gently re-shape it
- Check leveling feet — front should be 1/4" higher than the back
- Wipe the gasket clean; sugar and grease prevent proper sealing
